			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Humane Society of Charlotte offers a free spay/neuter program to those who are income eligible.  If you, or know anyone, who receives Unemployment Insurance, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Food Stamps, AFDC, Free School Lunch, or falls within the government&#8217;s poverty guidelines, two free surgeries are available.  This includes FeLV/FIV testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip.</p>
<p>We&#8217;re not sure if Mecklenburg County residency is required. Please contact them to make sure you are eligible.</p>
