Petey’s Promise seeks to provide temporary food and pet-care items for pet owners who might otherwise be forced to surrender their pets to a shelter. We also attempt to offer food assistance to those managing and caring for stray animals and pet shelters. Our purpose is to help disadvantaged pet owners keep and maintain their beloved pets, as pets are usually viewed as part of the family and offer emotional support, which is essential to a person’s well being.
A person’s inability to feed their pet could be due to temporarily unexpected bills, expenses, or job loss. By offering pet food assistance we hope to lessen the burden of homeless pets on local animal shelters and rescue groups. We hope families and individuals are rest assured they’re able to keep their beloved pet during their hardship. The pantry is for people who need pet food to hold their animals over until their owners get paid, or back on their feet. We hope to offer assistance with food and supplies for horses as well in the near future.
